Indianapolis Woman Accused of Burning Chickens Alive

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): An Indianapolis woman is accused of burning chickens alive near an apartment complex. Authorities say 49-year-old Erika Grentz burned several chickens inside a dumpster outside the complex on the city's west side. Grentz doesn’t live in the complex, but she told the assistant apartment manager that she brought “one chicken over and set it on fire.” However, firefighters say they found multiple dead chickens.

Grentz was arrested on charges of torturing and mutilating a vertebrate animal.
