SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WOWO): An Indiana businessman says Obamacare is sucking the life out of small businesses, according to Dr. Joseph Sergio, president of the Sergio Corporation, based in South Bend.

Sergio testified before the Joint Economic Committee hearing, “Examining the Effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act” in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. The committee is chaired by Indiana Senator Dan Coats.

Sergio says Obamacare should be repealed because it‘s affecting small business operations and their ability to produce profits to keep businesses solvent.

He says they‘ve actually seen employee benefits decrease while costs have skyrocketed under the program. Sergio added there‘s little benefit under the program unless major medical issues are involved.

The committee is looking at the impact the Affordable Care Act is having on jobs.
