Indianapolis Man Dies When Minivan is Struck by Train

NEW ROSS, Ind. (AP): State police say a 62-year-old Indianapolis man was killed when the minivan he was driving was struck by a train in central Indiana.
Police say Kenneth Vansickle was killed in New Ross, 35 miles northwest of Indianapolis, was struck by a train about 1 p.m. Thursday. Police say the train sounded its horn and the railroad crossing had a stop sign.
A conductor told police the minivan pulled into the intersection at the last minute. The train struck the minivan on the passenger side. No one on the train was injured.
Police say an investigation into the crash is continuing.
