FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – Fort Wayne firefighters and police put their historic rivalry aside Saturday for a charity soccer match supporting firefighter Keith Roddy, who is battling Stage Four colon cancer.

The 20-year fire veteran was honored as first responders rallied behind him and his family. Firefighters won the match four-to-one, while local businesses also donated to the cause.

Roddy says the support reminds him he’s not facing his fight alone.
