FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Treasurer's Office has a few hundred thousand dollars to add to its coffers.

The annual tax sale of properties with delinquent taxes took place this week. The treasurer's office says 269 properties sold at the auction Wednesday, with a total of $579,155 in delinquent taxes recouped as a result. 156 bidders from all over the country bid on properties.

About 38% of the properties that were in the tax sale sold, and the funds collected will be dispersed to cities, schools, libraries, and other local units of government. The rest of the properties will be deeded over to the county.
