Two Local TV Stations Being Sold

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne TV stations are being sold, but don't expect a lot of changes, at least at first.

The Federal Communications Commission has approve the sale of WPTA-TV channel 21 and WISE-TV channel 33 to two seperate ownership groups. WPTA is being sold to Quincy Newspapers Incorporated in Illinois while WISE is going to SagamoreHill Broadcasting in Georgia.

The sales are expected to close by November 1st. Quincy head Ralph Oakley says he plans in “significantly” upgrading 21Alive's equipment and programming.

The sales link between 21Alive and NBC33 will not change for at least 9 months following the ownership transfers. There will also be no changes in their affiliations or their channel positions.
