FWPD Releases Results of Body Camera Survey

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department has released the results of a survey that asked people what they thought of body cameras.

998 people responded, and the overwhelming majority of them either support or strongly support body cameras. 681, or 68%, said they strongly supported the cameras, with 188, or 19%, say they just supported them.

Most people agreed that it's acceptable for police to record them as part of their duties, that they protect both police and the public from false accusations, and that they felt safer knowing the cameras were in use.

However, opinions were mixed on if they would influence their behavior or communication.
