NE Indiana in Need of Foster Homes

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Northeast Indiana is in need… of foster homes.

The Department of Child Services in Fort Wayne handles a couple of thousand foster care cases, and they say more people willing to open their homes to foster kids are needed, telling our Partners in News at 21Alive over the past year they've seen the need for foster homes go up by at least 25%. The majority of the increase is due to a jump in drug cases, where parents accused of using illegal drugs are also charged with neglect… in some cases the kids are discovered with strangers that their parents passed them off to.

If you're interested in becoming a foster parent, call 888-631-9510.
