Report in proposed IPFW split finds flaws in original report

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two weeks ago, a working group presented a proposal to split IPFW into two campuses.

Now, a response has been made. Andy Downs is the director of the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics. He says that the report was built on poor interpretation of data on enrollment, research, graduation rates and charitable giving.

“The items in the proposal should not move forward unless they will improve things at IPFW.” Downs told WOWO News. “We believe we could do better. We don’t think there’s justification in saying that the campus should be torn in two based on this data.”

Their findings have been sent to the Presidents of the University, as well as the board of trustees.  Downs also points out that the new research suggests the campus is been operating at a higher level than suggested.
