Domestic disturbance leads to barricade situation in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police were busy with a barricade situation early Tuesday morning.

At about 5:30 a.m., police were called to a home on High Street west of St. Mary’s Avenue for a domestic disturbance between two brothers. 23-year-old Jason Beam entered his brother’s home and fell asleep on the living room couch, according to a Fort Wayne Police Department press release. Beam had been banned from the home due to a recent disturbance.

Beam didn’t come out of the house for about three and a half hours. Police eventually used gas to get him out, and he surrendered without incident.

Everything returned to normal on High Street between St. Mary’s and Osage at about 9 a.m.
