FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): If you have $6 million, you can own a piece of property that’s a big part of Fort Wayne’s downtown redevelopment future.

The 28.65 acre “North River” plot of land has gone on sale, according to the News-Sentinel.

The property is located just north of downtown Fort Wayne and has been the subject of many ideas over the years. Ideas that include a casino, a water park, a railroad theme park, a Salvation Army community center, and most recently, the $180 million STEAM educational park.

Realtor Steve Zacher, who’s listing the land, says it’s “a lot of property for the money.”

The city could be an interested buyer. The city had an option to buy the property in 2008, but passed. The property is owned by the Rifkin family, who previously ran OmniSource.
