FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A new ER is opening in Fort Wayne.

Lutheran Health Network officials announced Lutheran ER Statewood will open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The new ER is located at the northwest corner of Coliseum and State boulevards.

The general public will have a chance to preview the ER at a neighborhood open house from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m on Saturday. The ribbon cutting for the new facility is at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

“We are excited to reach the completion of this project because of the support we’ve received from all the individuals and organizations who have worked with us to bring new emergency services to the area,” Chief Executive Officer of Lutheran Health Network Brian Bauer said.

The ER will have experienced, board-certified ER physicians and ER-trained nurses. It will also have imaging services including digital X-ray, CT and ultrasound.

The total investment for the project was about $10 million.
