Indiana voter fraud investigation expands to Allen County

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Some Allen County residents may be victims of voter fraud.

The investigation into fraudulent voter application information has expanded from Hendricks and Marion counties into Allen, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Johnson, Lake and Madison. The investigation began in late August, according to Indiana State Police.

Indiana State Police detectives obtained a search warrant for business office of the Indiana Voter Registration Project, which is located at 2425 North Meridian Street in downtown Indianapolis. The warrant was served mid-morning on Tuesday.

Now that the investigation has expanded into more counties, police believe the total of potentially fraudulent records may be in the hundreds. This could disenfranchise many voters.

The false information is a combination of made up names and made up addresses, real names with made up or incorrect address and false dates of births with real names.

Victims of voter fraud might not be aware that their information has been altered until they go to vote. This would result in the citizen having to cast a provisional ballot.

Voters are asked to visit Indiana Voter’s website to check information and ensure they are properly registered.
Anyone who notices wrong information that indicates they could be a victim, is asked to contact their local voter registration office and the 24 hour Indiana State Police Voter Registration Application Fraud tip line at 888-603-3147.
