FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): It’ll take a little while longer before a Fort Wayne man charged with a 2016 murder finds out when his trial will begin.

28-year-old Marquavious Jones is accused of shooting Sha Rif at a gas station in November 2016. He was caught in Saginaw, Michigan, about a month ago by the US Marshals Service.

Our Partners in News at ABC 21 report Jones appeared in court Wednesday for a trial setting, but he doesn’t have a public defender yet, so it’s been pushed back to next Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Jones shot Rif due to jealousy over a friendship Rif had with another person. The killing broke Allen County’s record for homicides in a single year.
