Two critical after early-morning shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two men are in critical condition after an early-morning shooting near downtown Fort Wayne.

Police were called to a tavern near the intersection of Taylor and Broadway at just past 1:30am this morning to reports of gunfire. They found two men with gunshot wounds; one in the parking lot of a gas station across the street, the other in an alley behind the tavern.

The victims have been identified as 44-year-old Christopher Pogue and 35-year-old Jacob Jeffrey.

Witness reports say a fight led to a man police identified as 29-year-old Aaron Suggs firing gunshots near the back door of the bar, hitting both men.

Suggs has been arrested on aggravated battery charges.
