In 2011, Labrosse pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge for beating the same man with a hammer.

The Journal Gazette reports Labrosse will stand trial on March 12. In addition to attempted murder, she is charged with three counts of domestic battery and two counts of strangulation.

Labrosse’s lawyer says he plans to rely on an insanity plea and two doctors found her competent to stand trial.
