Home destroyed in Tuesday morning fire

(Heather Starr/WOWO News)

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): A Washington Township home was a total loss after a house fire that shut down Wallen Road between Fritz and Huguenard Roads this morning.

Huntertown Fire Chief Mike Feely tells WOWO News his department was one of several that responded to the blaze shortly after 8am.

Firefighters were unsure if anybody was inside the home, which had collapsed due to the heat of the blaze, made more intense by the home’s metal roof.

Feely says firefighters are investigating the possibility of the fire being caused by an explosion, adding that the two-story home’s front door was found across the road.
