ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Allen County’s child poverty rate is above the state’s rate according to the KIDS COUNT® in Indiana Data Book. The report says 23.4% of kids in the county are living in poverty, up from the 22.1% in all of the state and 22.6% nationally. Statistics also show that the rate of free school lunch usage, along with the use of food stamps, has increased over the past four years.
