FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County SPCA is holding a pair of events today to help local pets in need of a home.

First, the shelter will be holding a “Big Adoption Event” at the Apple Glen PetSmart from noon to 4pm. Shelter Director Jessica Henry describes it as a large-scale event aimed to find homes for most of their adoptable cats and dogs.

The shelter’s adoption center at 4914 South Hanna Street will be closed at the time, to encourage adopters to attend the event at PetSmart.

At 7pm, a first-time fundraiser hosted by Beyond91.com will look to benefit the shelter’s Pet Promises Program. It will happen at Pedal City on West Main Street, and features music from local artists. All processds will go to the Pet Promises Program, which helps families who can’t afford their pets’ basic food and medicine needs.
