INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Unemployment may be down overall from this time last year, but Indiana’s unemployment rate rose slightly in February.

20,000 people have joined the labor force for a second straight month. The percentage of the working age population that is employed or looking for work in Indiana continues to outpace the national average, according to figures just released by the state.

Indiana’s unemployment rate has been below 5 percent since June and has been at its lowest levels since before the national recession started in 2008. Locally, the jobless rate in Allen County is up 0.4 percent to 5.2 percent. That’s slightly lower than this time last year.
