DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An Auburn man was arrested by the Indiana State Police Tuesday for raping a girl under the age of 16.

Investigators say 21-year-old Joel Earnhardt forced the victim to have sex with him Monday inside a home in Auburn after she repeatedly told him “no.” The girl’s parents called police to report the incident that night, and Earnhardt was found and arrested by police just before 4am Tuesday.

Earnhardt is facing felony rape and sexual misconduct charges.

The Division of Child Services, Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center, the Auburn Police Department and the DeKalb County Prosecutor’s Office are all working together on the investigation.
