CULVER, Ind. (WOWO): A body of a missing person in Marshall County has been found.
Indiana Conservation Officers spent Friday night searching for 28 year old Jose Cruz Lizcano-Fernandez of Logansport. He was last seen swimming in Lake Maxinkuckee at the Culver Public Beach. Officers used a “side scan sonar” to help find the man. Around 9:30 p.m. officers announced they found his body 15 feet outside of the swim area in about 5 feet of water.
Family members say Jose was missing for about 4 to 5 hours before they noticed he was gone.
Conservation Officers say it's important to swim with a buddy and wearing a life jacket, and use caution when playing around the water during this holiday weekend.
