Butler man injured in motorcycle crash

BUTLER, Ind. (WOWO): A motorcyclist was injured after a freak accident Saturday morning in Butler.

The DeKalb county Sheriff’s Department said a 54-year-old Butler man was driving a motorcycle northbound on County Road 63 just south of US 6 at about 11:20 a.m. when he was hit in the face by a turkey buzzard.

He was blinded by the bird and hit the brakes, causing the bike to lose control. He ended up in the east ditch of the road, suffering bruises and cuts to his head, arms and legs.

He also reported having problems breathing, and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
