The Fort Wayne Zoo Earns New Certification

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) — The Fort Wayne Zoo has become the first zoo in the tri-state region to earn Certified Autism Center certification.

Officials say that zoo staff completed a rigorous autism training program to assist autistic and sensory-deprived visitors.

The Zoo also made upgrades to make it more accessible and memorable for autistic guests.

The training and upgrades were funded through a grant from the AWS Foundation.
