Campus Safety

INDIANA (WOWO): If you have a student headed off to college and living off-campus, police have a few reminders to help keep them safe.

They suggest students to start their own small neighborhood watch group and communicate with neighbors about who is normally allowed to enter and exit your property.

Also they suggest keeping the residence looking “lived-in”. That means lights on and curtains or blinds closed at night and always keep doors and windows locked.

After they've moved in, they suggest NOT leaving boxes and packaging out for the trash that advertises their computer, TV or other electronics and valuables.
