Canadian Man Killed in Steuben County Crash

ASHLEY, Ind. (WOWO): An accident early Sunday morning claimed the life of a Canadian man in Steuben County.

The accident happened Sunday morning before 2:30 on southbound I-69 about 3 miles north of Ashley. A man from North York, Ontario, Canada was riding a motorcycle and was rear-ended by the vehicle being driven by 36 year old Chet Gilbert of Ashley. 

The victim was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. His name will be released when family is notified. 

Police say Gilbert suffered an anxiety attack and was taken to the hospital, but alcohol is also believed to be a factor.
