Candidates Hit the Road on Last Leg of 2014 Races

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Statewide candidates are stepping up their public appearances as Election Day nears.

The three women running at the top of the Republican ticket are starting a two-day, statewide bus tour Tuesday. Democratic candidates for secretary of state and auditor, meanwhile, spent the past weekend in southern Indiana.

The 2014 cycle has lacked the flash of the U.S. Senate and governor's races, which dominated Indiana politics in the last election cycle.

Still, Republicans are looking to maintain control of the auditor, treasurer and secretary of state offices. Democrats, meanwhile, are hoping to put a dent in Republican supermajorities in the General Assembly.

Republican Auditor Suzanne Crouch and Democratic secretary of state candidate Beth White have begun running campaign ads on television.
