FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Capital Improvement Board has chosen a firm to provide preliminary design and cost estimates for a proposed downtown arena and event center.

The CIB today approved a $283,000 contract with Sink Combs Dethlefs for architectural and engineering services.

That firm will partner with Elevatus Architecture, Design Collaborative and Hoch Associates to develop plans by December, which will then be used to determine whether or not the proposed arena becomes a reality.

The CIB met with Sink Combs Dethlefs and two other finalists for the job before making their choice, touting the firm’s “long-standing reputation and track record” in arena and event center design.
