ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) _ A central Indiana police officer faces charges alleging that he sold prescription medications from his marked patrol car while on duty.
U.S. Attorney's office spokesman Tim Horty tells The Herald Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1Z3uaQs ) 52-year-old Donnie Jordan was arrested Thursday by the FBI.
The veteran Anderson Police Department officer faces federal charges of possession with the intent to distribute the painkiller hydrocodone and a charge of possession with the intent to distribute the anti-anxiety medication Xanax.
Horty says Jordan was on duty, wearing his police uniform and in a marked patrol car when the alleged offenses occurred.
Jordan was being held in federal custody at the Marion County Jail pending an initial court hearing Friday afternoon.
It was not immediately clear whether Jordan has an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
