Change Your Clock Change Your Batteries

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): As the time change approaches on Sunday, November 2, 2014 officials with the Angola Fire Department want to remind you to make another change – replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

Changing smoke alarm batteries at least once a year is one of the simplest, most effective ways to reduce the number of house fire deaths.

Additionally, to save lives and prevent needless injuries in Steuben County the Angola Fire Department has joined forces with Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs for the 20th year of the Change Your Clock Change Your Batteries campaign. The program urges all Americans to change their smoke alarm and carbon monoxide batteries when changing their clocks at 2:00 a.m., this Sunday.
