Changes Likely to Fort Wayne Comm. Schools Bus System

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana's property tax caps are likely to impact the Fort Wayne Community Schools bus system.

The district's Transportation Fund will be cut next school year by $2.5 million, meaning fewer bus routes. The Bus Replacement Fund is also minimal, so there won't likely be as many new buses purchased in the near future.

Officials are thinking of cutting routes and the number of bus drivers due to a lack of funds. This would force families to find another method of getting their children to school, as their route may be eliminated.
