Chicago Man Arrested for Armed Abduction in Grant County

MARION, Ind. (WOWO): Grant County Sheriff Del Garcia reports that a 21 year old Chicago man is in jail on six felony charges following a violent incident at the 3600 South Granton Place Apartment Complex on Sunday January 19 at about 9:37 P.M.

Deputies were called to an apartment due to a domestic disturbance involving someone armed with a gun. Witnesses in the apartment told responding officers that 21 year old Ronald Gayles of Chicago had forced his way into the apartment, then threatened to kill others before reportedly forcing his estranged girlfriend to leave with him at gunpoint.

He was immediately arrested by Munster Police, who confirmed that the victim was safe and that they recovered the weapon involved in the incident.

  • Criminal Confinement – Level 3 Felony
  • Intimidation – Level 5 Felony
  • Domestic Battery – Level 5 Felony
