Child Critically Injured in Fleming Street Fire

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne boy is in critical condition after a Saturday morning fire on the city's south side.

It happened just around 10:10 on Fleming Street. According to the fire department, firefighters had to go inside the home to rescue the boy who was trapped inside.

Another adult was treated and released. It took about a minute for crews to arrive and about a half hour to bring under control.

Five people, including two children inside when the fire broke out. The two-story house was heavily damaged.

The cause remains under investigation.
