City of Auburn to Raise Electricity Costs

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): The city of Auburn will soon see a rise in electricity costs. 

Residents will see $5 to $8 added to their monthly bill, starting this spring.

According to our Partners in News at 21Alive, the Auburn Common Council approved the first reading Tuesday night to raise electricity rates by approximately 12 percent.

The average household that uses about 1,000 kilowatts per month will likely pay a new monthly rate of $78.

This is the first rise of electricity costs for the city of Auburn in 25 years, with changes beginning this April.
