Court Considers More Prison Time for Convicted Felon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man already serving 12 years for causing serious bodily injury to his infant daughter, , will likely see more jail time.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for this morning in Allen Superior Court for John Meier.

According to court documents Meier could serve three more years for killing a domestic animal, the family kitten. That's a class D felony.

Judge John Surbeck will also consider a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.

In October Meier was sentenced to prison for forcibly pushing the baby's chin and head together. This after the child was crying. He's serving that sentence at Westville Correctional Facility.
