Cromwell Man Dies In Wreck South of Claypool

CLAYPOOL, Ind. (WOWO): A Cromwell man driving his moped was killed when he reportedly drove through a stop sign and hit a van.

Kosciusko County authorities say 25 year old Anthony Gabbard was driving eastbound on County Road 800 South a little after 3 PM Friday. Gabbard hit a van and was thrown from his vehicle. He ended up in a nearby field and was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.

Gabbard's moped ended up underneath the van, being driven by 40 year old Sheldon Marles of Warsaw. The gasoline tank of the moped ignited, but the fire was extinguished. Marles was not hurt.

The accident is still under investigation.
