Dam At J. Edward Roush Lake To Release Water to Control Water Levels

HUNTINGTON, Ind. (WOWO): The Army Corps of Engineers is going to have to release more water through the dam at J. Edward Roush lake because the lake is reaching its capacity.

The release will only be at the main gates and not the large gates visible to the public.

They're going to try to control how  much is released so the water at the reservoir is at a safe level sometime Friday evening.

Residents along the Wabash River and its tributaries should be on the lookout for changing conditions.

The City of Huntington is also looking for sandbagging volunteers at its Street Department on Webster Street.
