Decatur Woman Accused of Smuggling Drugs Into Prison

NEW CASTLE, Ind. (WOWO): A Decatur woman is in jail after trying to smuggle drugs into a state prison.

Indiana State Police officers arrested 21 year old Ann Springer at her home in Decatur Monday morning.

Springer is accused of trying to pass a package to an inmate she was visiting at New Castle Prison on September 6th. Officers were able to get a hold of the package. They reportedly found a small amount of marijuana and what is believed to be Suboxone strips inside.

A warrant was issued out of Henry County last month, charging Springer with Trafficking with an Inmate, which is a Level 5 felony.
