DeKalb Residents Facing COIT Increase

GARRETT, Ind. (WOWO): Just as most of us are saying good bye to income taxes for the year, residents in DeKalb County are dealing with the prospects of raising taxes to pay for their 911 dispatch center.

Auburn and Garrett city councils held a joint public meetings last night to explain how they'll cover a budget of more than $1 million dollars, that's according to our partners in news at 21Alive.

One way is a local option income tax, another to is to seek a excess property tax levy. We'll find out more over the next few weeks.
