DNA Test Accuses Auburn Man of Attempted Rape

AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A woman ended an attempted rape by kicking the man who tried to have sex with her in a bathroom.

According to the Journal Gazette, a DNA examination showed evidence that 35-year-old James Messmann of Auburn tried to rape the woman last October.

The woman recently broke up with a boyfriend and the two had a few glasses of wine at her house. After about 30 minutes, Messmann asked the woman to have sex, and grabber her arm.

She ran to the bathroom to call 911, but Messmann managed to force his way into the room and force the woman to the floor.

Messman started pulling off some of her clothes and attempted to rape her. That's when the woman kicked Messman in the crotch and ran away to call 911.

Police have issued a warrant for Messman's arrest.
