Downtown arena operating cost study expected to finish by September

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): We should know within the next few months just how much a new arena for downtown Fort Wayne will cost, and how much it should bring in.

Victus Advisors of Park City, Utah will be conducting a $49,000 study on the cost of operating the arena, according to the News-Sentinel, with a final report due back by either late August or early September.

The study is to focus on one thing, specifically: will the arena, which has been talked about for years as a possibility and was recommended be built by a special committee last year, operate on a deficit? And if so, how big of a deficit?

The proposed facility would be the new home for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants as well as act as another concert venue for downtown, and would cost more than $105-million to build.
