SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) – Eli Lilly and Co. is planning a nearly $200 million expansion at its insulin manufacturing plant in Puerto Rico.

Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla said Thursday that the expansion by the Indianapolis-based company will take two years and create some 400 temporary construction jobs. The plant is located in the northern municipality of Carolina.

Lilly established itself in the U.S. territory in 1965 and has some 1,600 employees on the island. It manufactures drugs including Cymbalta, Cialis and Evista.
