E. Ind. man convicted on 11 counts in 2012 killing

RICHMOND, Ind. (AP): An eastern Indiana jury has convicted a man on 11 felony counts in the killing of a man stabbed and shot during a purported drug money robbery.

The Wayne County jurors convicted 26-year-old Jonathan Gray on murder, robbery, conspiracy and several other charges Thursday in the March 2012 killing of 48-year-old Michael Sekse.

Members of Sekse's family struggled to hold back sobs as the verdicts were read.

Authorities alleged that Gray was one of five people involved in the brutal ambush slaying of Sekse during a purported marijuana deal inside a shed at Gray's Richmond home.

Gray is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 6.
