Early Morning Chase Lands Woman in Jail

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): Shortly after midnight, a routine traffic stop by state police quickly turned into a vehicle chase. Indiana State Troopers attempted to stop 26-year-old Heather Jones, of Albion, for a traffic violation in the area of Mayhew Road and Old Leo Road when she immediately took off in her truck.

Jones led police on a short before she crashed into a concrete median near the intersection of Dupont Road and Coldwater Road. She rolled to a stop about one mile later

Jones got out of the truck and tried to walk away before she was caught by police.

She faces several criminal and traffic charges. The most serious charges include felony resisting in a vehicle and receiving stolen auto parts.

A check of the vehicle registration alerted police that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Kosciusko County.

Jones was taken to the Allen County Jail where she is currently being held on numerous charges.
