Enviro Chief: Fed Rules Could Ban New Coal Plants

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Indiana's top environmental regulator says he's worries that new federal pollution standards could make it nearly impossible for utilities to build any new coal-fired power plants in the state. Indiana Department of Environmental Management commissioner Thomas Easterly, told a legislative panel Wednesday that the pending federal regulations will essentially rule out coal-fired power plants that currently produce much of the state's electricity.
