EXCLUSIVE | Father: FWCS teacher bullied my son over politics

Todd Hein tells us his son was shamed, bullied, and given an extra assignment by his teacher, after he cited Fox News as his source for an assignment.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne man is accusing his son’s 8th-grade Spanish teacher of pushing a political agenda on students.

In a WOWO Exclusive, Todd Hein tells us his son was shamed, bullied, and given an extra assignment by his teacher, Sarah Ford, at Blackhawk Middle School, after he cited Fox News as his source for an assignment.

“She decided to walk up to him and in front of everybody, told him Fox News is fake news, it’s full of lies… and gave him a new assignment, to look up any of the ‘many lies’ Donald Trump has told as President of the United States, and do a full page report on that,” Hein says.

Hein says he doesn’t care what the teacher’s political views are, as long as they’re not forced upon students.

“They don’t need to listen to that in a Spanish class, of all things. I mean there’s no other word to describe it. She bullied our son over Fox News.”

He adds he had a 36-minute meeting (hear the audio here) with the school’s principal in which Ford admitted to the allegations. However, the district tells Hein they’ve finished their investigation into the matter, but won’t say what their ruling is.

“They said she’d be the only person who knew the outcome unless she was terminated, then it would be presented to the board and it would become a public record,” Hein says.

We reached out to FWCS spokeswoman Krista Stockman for comment. She provided the following statement:

“Fort Wayne Community Schools does not condone the kind of behavior detailed by this parent. When we were notified, we immediately investigated and took appropriate action. Because this is a personnel matter, I cannot provide details of the outcome of the investigation.”

Hein’s son had been removed from the Spanish class to “work in the office.” However, Hein and his wife decided their son’s time would be better spent in another class. Their 14-year-old is now taking a Creative Writing course that he has already taken.

Hear our full interview with Hein here.

I am going to shot out BULL on this. Students are getti g away with whatever they want and when THEY areheld accountable to do work, they whine to whomever is in the home and they blame teachers. In reality parents/guardians need to step up,assume the role of parenting and teach respect and hard work at home! I taught as a substitute for several months at BMS and other schools.students and parents verbally abuse teachers and nothing is done. Teachers stay quiet for fear of lawsuits and loss of jobs. Students lie and make up things aboutteachers, when itis just the teacher holding the student accountable and trying to give them consequences for not following rules and doing as they are suppose too. There are changes that need to be made in FWCS. Thereis only one school, Jefferson Middle that actually takes charge of right and wrong and holds parents and students accountable, as rules are broken. Again, I am going to venture to guessthis student is one of the trouble makers that was actually expected to do some work and held accountable and didnt like it.

Marie April 25, 2018 at 6:41 am

If you listen to the recording that the parent made, though, the teacher fully admits her wrong-doing. How can you say that the student/parents are trying to get away with not doing what is expected when the recording states otherwise? Especially since the teacher “can’t recall” the assignment or what was said between her and the student that occurred just two days prior?

You calling the kid a liar? Have you seen how many teachers are not just bringing their politics into the classroom, but forcing student to agree with their opinions, or else? The teacher was totally out of line and needs to be held accountable for her actions.

Anna DiNicola October 9, 2020 at 3:39 pm

Teacher indoctrination of my child during Zoom class.
Concerned about teachers pushing their own political opinions in class.

I’ve been listening in on my Childs Zoom classes and I’m very concerned that teachers are fanning the flames of hate by attacking certain political parties.
The job of teachers should be to help students learn to be critical thinkers and develop their own knowledge. From this perspective, teachers should pose questions, but NOT state vocal political beliefs. Many teachers are not happy with the American Trump administration right now. I hear them attacking our President on Zoom classes when they should be teaching our kids. I saw a sign last year in one of the teachers’ classrooms at CV High, that said “Friends don’t let friends vote Republican”
Do you think that’s ok? No matter where you stand individually, left or right, that should be your own opinion, your child should be able to learn about both sides and make their own. There is a proposition now, Proposition 18 would allow 17-year-olds who will be 18 at the time of the next general election to vote. With teachers using their influence to push students to only hearing what the teacher’s personal side is, we produce students who are exposed to only one set of ideas at their most influential age. I’m just a concerned parent that’s hoping to bring more Peace in the classroom and to our world. The teachers job is to help our kids become strong, individual, independent adults, not to become another version of themselves.
I have contacted the school and they said they would handle it but the teacher has not changed.

Mitch Deese April 25, 2018 at 7:34 am

You liberals are so wrong and yes if someone’s opinion about politics is different you try to shut them down in any means you can even if it means violence. Shame on you.

David Brader April 25, 2018 at 7:48 am

He did the work. Apparently you have a reading comprehension issue. Try reading the entire story again.

David Palmer April 25, 2018 at 7:48 am

Listening to the recording, the Teacher was wrong. I’m a retired educator and support Teachers, but this was all political, how can you blame the student? Come to MO, we support this Country and our President.

Fingerle, Tami April 25, 2018 at 10:41 am

Are you kidding me? This child is an honor student and has never been in trouble in the past. He is my cousin and he is a very intelligent, soft hearted soul. He followed all the instructions on the assignment and was ridiculed in front of all his schoolmates because of a source, which by the way was an allowable Source according to the teachers original instructions. Jacob, that was shy child, stated that he didn’t want to put himself out there like this, but worries about his sister having to face the same issues as she comes up through the grades behind him. Please don’t judge people, without knowing them.

Steve April 25, 2018 at 12:32 pm

This teacher is clearly abusing her position to push her own personal politics on her students. Her political opinions should have nothing to do with teaching Spanish. She has every right to her own opinions but does not have a right to force them on students in a captive situation, especially in a class that should have nothing to do with politics and especially at this age. How easy it must be to force political opinions on 14 year-olds and berate them if they don’t agree. It is an unacceptable abuse of parent trust. As parents we should never accept this kind of behavior and as an alumnus I am very concerned to see this happening at my old school. Is this really what they are doing now with their honor students at Blackhawk? I certainly hope it is an exception.

We should all watch this very closely to make sure it is properly resolved. Parents must have confidence that the schools are not abusing their trust. However, the initial response from FWCS gives me some doubts. This is our community. The next generation is our responsibility. Parents, please don’t let this go.

Penny April 30, 2018 at 10:04 pm

Did you even read the article? Is comprehension a problem for you? They lay out facts a recording a radio interview and you come up with something totally different. You were a sub teacher for a few years. Lol

Penny April 30, 2018 at 10:10 pm

Thank you. I’m glad family stood up for him. Most teachers are Liberals and feel the need to push their opinions on young minds. I’ve had to confront this too with my son. I just wish he would have written about Trumps lies it would have been a very short report!

Greg Steffe April 25, 2018 at 2:31 pm

For starters this is a Spanish class, why are students being asked to do assignments that involve political issues? Multiple parents have come forward stating that this teacher has bullied and harassed their children in the past. She regularly rewards students who agree with her by giving them candy, while she publicly embarrasses and humiliates kids who disagree. There is no room for this in a public school system. We regularly lecture kids on the evils of bullying and then allow this kind of behavior from a teacher at the middle school level? This is not education, this is socialist indoctrination at the tax payers expense. This woman needs removed by whatever means it takes.

Jim B. April 25, 2018 at 3:14 pm

I teach middle school but I call bull on you, lady. Listen to the audio. No question what happened here.

Taking Back Our Schools From Anti-American Leftists April 25, 2018 at 3:29 pm

These teachers and substitute teachers have been indoctrinated and don’t have enough of a critical, thinking mind to know it. Now it is their agenda to try and continue the self-same indoctrination on their students that they themselves couldn’t think their way out of. The common defense is to try and label the parent as being at fault as Loretta Montgomery does here. They don’t dare divulge that their university study to become teachers is wrought with the propaganda that parents are too stupid and uneducated to know what’s best for their children and the state through its schools and teachers will take the lead role in usurping parental rights by indoctrination of said children.

Jordan Peterson is offering one way to help clean up the schools as it is clear that schools will not be cleaning up this mess. This is plainly evidenced in this teacher still pushing her propaganda in her class after the matter was supposedly resolved by the school.

Full YouTube video and description is here:
To Junior High, High School Students & Their Parents

Beginning description:
“Jordan B Peterson

“In this video, I make a radical suggestion, preceded by a careful, detailed argument that this suggestion is justified.

“In short: I think students should (with the backing of their parents, if possible) leave their junior high and high school classes if any of the following topics arise. This means that they should stand up, note their objections to the content of the class (“This sounds like indoctrination to me, rather than education, so I’m leaving”), and then walk out. Perhaps they could encourage a classmate/friend to videotape their actions, and post it on YouTube.”

Jon April 25, 2018 at 3:36 pm

You need serious help. What is wrong with you? Teacher pushing political views down the throat of students. You seem to have mental issues.

Anonymous April 26, 2018 at 9:25 pm

That’s very rude. you weren’t there, you don’t know what happened, and you don’t know her. You have no right to be going around from article to article just saying bull about other people. You act like you’ve never had a high opinion, and tried to make people think the same as you. There is no reason to say something like that about a person.

Anonymous April 26, 2018 at 9:20 pm

You are so right, I was in the class when this happened, and I didn’t even know about this happening, until this article was published. She did not call him out in front of the class, and I know because I was in the class at this time. Also in the podcast, his parents were very rude to the teacher as she was trying to remember what happened.

Stupid is as stupid does. - Forrest Gump April 27, 2018 at 7:13 am

Hahaha. Lying on the comment section? Your bs is confirmed with your next anonymous post. You had this teacher in the past but u were in class that day? Better stay in school and learn something else.

J Severson April 29, 2018 at 8:05 pm

Well Loretta maybe you need to go back to school and study comprehension. the first part of the story is that the kid did the assignment and the teacher said he couldn’t use Fox News anymore because it was fake News. And then went on a rant at him and told him he had to redo the assignment about the lies that Trump tells. Obviously you’re another one of those libtards that likes to go off on a rant trying to prove that something’s wrong or that whatever you read is correct and make people see things your way when you don’t even see the real story. That’s why I will take the alt left on in a battle any day of the week you guys are trying to destroy the country Our Youth and our morals.

Charles E Murphy Jr April 30, 2018 at 6:04 am

I’m going to shout bull on you too. The teacher admitted to the accusations not in writing but on a recording. I do admit students need to be held accountable and parents need to not coddle them all the time. Teach them respect but don’t bully them in front of their peers.

Penny April 30, 2018 at 9:51 pm

Did you even read the article? Is comprehension a problem for you? They lay out facts a recording a radio interview and you come up with something totally different. You were a sub teacher for a few years. Lol

Buck April 24, 2018 at 2:24 pm

Alright WOWO, it’s time to follow up with some investigative reporting. Put some resources into this to see if it’s legitimate or not. You’re one of only a few local conservative media outlets that’s willing to report this kind of story. Please don’t let it fall to the wayside if it’s true.

Quagmire April 25, 2018 at 8:39 am

Try reading the story.

Buck April 25, 2018 at 12:37 pm

I was the first to respond Richard. The story’s been updated since. Try again.

Roger April 24, 2018 at 2:36 pm

The result is unacceptable. Since the teacher bullied and demeaned the student in front of all the other students in the class then the resulting investigation affects ALL of those students and their parents. The school has an obligation to all affected by such bullying and unwanted behavior to have it resolved in front of the like body of observers it occurred before. NOT in secret but in the open for all to see and hear.

bc3b April 24, 2018 at 3:17 pm

What in the world does US politics and media have to do with Spanish?

Tom April 24, 2018 at 3:44 pm

I hope it’s true and I hope the kid learned to use real news sources instead of republican propaganda for his essays

Marie April 25, 2018 at 8:50 am

Could you also say that for CNN, MSNBC, etc.? They clearly sway one way over the other as well. If you listened to the recording carefully, the father brought in the same news topic from other sources as well (ABC, CNN, NBC). You have no argument.

Fingerle, Tami April 25, 2018 at 10:44 am

It was not an essay, it was a translation of a news article which could be obtained from any news sources. The same exact article was written by all the other news outlets.

Steve April 25, 2018 at 6:48 pm

Ricky L Smith April 25, 2018 at 10:01 pm

Normal mistreated whining liberal reply, does not fit his agenda so it is wrong. It is very evident that you are not smart enough to comprehend what you read and listen to if you did either. It clearly states that all news agencies reported on the same story. So are all of them propaganda news agencies little Tommie?

Penny April 30, 2018 at 9:54 pm

…said the teacher.

Loretta Montgomery April 24, 2018 at 3:46 pm

So we do not get to know what happened on actions taken, but there is NO PROBLEM with defamation of character for this teacher? Wow, and if you listen the dad, stated opinon on his own reasonings of why this is wrong. There is so much wrong here. No wonder our educational system is horrible and our kids suffer. We cater to those that whine and have zero validation. The school teaches how to look for fake news, she was reinforcing what BMS and FWCS wants their kids to know. She used Trump as an example of fake news, why is that not okay. She didn’t give any other details, dad made his own assumptions here. Nothing was done wrong, the whiny wins, again….so is FWCS on most everything, sadly! How about the teacher being bullied here and like I said, the defamation of her character?

Fingerle, Tami April 25, 2018 at 10:49 am

She admitted to the wrong doing and apologized for it. It was bullying and it was wrong at all levels. No defamation here, truth. Jacob on the other hand is still suffering the consequences and may not receive his high school credits that he earned in 8th grade as an honor student.

Anonymous April 26, 2018 at 9:34 pm

That sucks for him. He was the one that wined over something as stupid as this, that only half of it is true. I was in the classroom when all of this occurred, and i didn’t even know about it until this article was published. If he wanted to keep his credits, then he should have taken the class more seriously, and just done the assignment. If i was in his shoes, i would have just told the teacher no, and she would accept that from any students. He shouldn’t have thrown a hissy fit, and he should have dealt with the situation like an adult. I can’t wait to see when he is in his 30’s, and his parents are still defending him for something as stupid as this.

Rick Blaine April 25, 2018 at 1:26 pm

Loretta, she admitted it. You are nothing but a Liberal apologist. If you are a substitute, I hope you won’t be much longer and if you aren’t, I hope you never are again. You do not deserve to be around students. You need to see mental help.

S M April 25, 2018 at 3:59 pm

Um… Wow… To think that the teacher is always right and that teachers and other authority figures don’t try to impose their opinions on young people is just plain naive, or conveniently stupid. I am a teacher and I can tell you this happens all of the time. It is not right and kudos to this family for standing up to this. Typical liberal mentality… “Everyone must agree with my opinions because they are right and differing opinions are wrong and should be punished.” Terrible!

Anonymous April 26, 2018 at 9:29 pm

you are completely correct!!!!!

John G April 24, 2018 at 4:04 pm

It’s not a political statement to say that Donald Trump is a liar. It’s the teacher’s duty to tell the truth to her students.

Marie April 25, 2018 at 9:45 am

The “truth” as she sees it? Would you be sayin* the same if this same incident happened three or four years ago? Is it also the “teacher’s duty” to act as the parent/guardian of the students? Shouldn’t those people tell their children “the truth” or at least, guide them to it?

Barb April 24, 2018 at 5:00 pm

Unbelievable. Imagine if this incident had happened 2 years ago and incendiary comments had been made against a student who the teacher thought supported Barack Obama. All hell would have broken loose – as it should have and as it should now. I’m not a resident of Fort Wayne, but you’d better believe I’ll be calling Fort Wayne Community Schools tomorrow.

Jack April 24, 2018 at 6:04 pm

This is so dumb for a teacher telling a student to do home work of so called “fake news” it a political agenda so what spanish class is for spanish. Since It isn’t a spanish school she has to put all classes including math, language arts, science, and social studies

Laurie April 24, 2018 at 6:28 pm

This is legitimate. My son is in the exact same class and friends with this boy. Matter of fact he is the one he texted about the assignment you hear about in the audio. She has made horrible comments all year about Trump and Fox News. My son always used Fox for his news and she always commented about it being fake. It’s ridiculous!!

Dave April 24, 2018 at 6:32 pm

Well…the teacher was right, Fox News is not a credible news source when citing.

Fred Ziffel April 25, 2018 at 7:39 am

Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has them. The teacher can’t use her personal beliefs to bully a child here. That was wrong…she and the school admitted it, and the case is closed after she is reprimanded. I hope they make it clear she can’t do that any more or her employment will be terminated.

David Brader April 25, 2018 at 7:58 am

There is no such thing as a credible mainstream media source. That being said, the assignment was to translate a story, not determine the credibility of the story! The student was not “citing”, he was translating. This is the problem with the progressive left. They ignore facts and tell the story that suits their agenda. Truth and facts are irrelevant.

Charles E Murphy Jr April 30, 2018 at 6:26 am

It’s not about fox news people. It’s not about the assignment. It’s about a teacher berating and billing a student in front of all his classmates. Leave politics out of it and think about what the teacher did to the student.

jason patton April 24, 2018 at 7:47 pm

it’s very true. I work with mr Hein. this needs to be taken care of.

Anonymous April 26, 2018 at 9:40 pm

I feel bad for you. Mr. Hein seemed like a real jerk in the pod cast, and for forcing this whole thing. If Jacob would have just told her that he wasn’t going to do the assignment, and stood for what he believed in, then she would have respected that, and i would know, because i have had her as a teacher in the past. They took this way too far, and all Jacob had to do was stand for his opinion, also, i was in the class when this occurred, and i didn’t know that it actually happened until this article was published. Ridiculous.

Jim April 24, 2018 at 8:19 pm

What??? FCWS does not condone the behavior of the Parent? The Parents were doing their job as parents in the best interest of their child. WHAT ABOUT THE BEHAVIOR AND ACTIONS OF THE TEACHER? No Comment FWCS? Our tax money pays for this $^%%?

Wake up America!! The Social Communists started via influencing and controlling the media. The Great Communicator Ronald Reagan experienced communist agenda in Hollywood. The Social Communist agenda infiltrated colleges and universities and more recently their brand has taken over the public school system in this country.

Darrin Wright April 25, 2018 at 4:09 am

She meant FWCS does not condone the behavior of the teacher.

The educated April 24, 2018 at 10:20 pm

Appropriate title:

FWCS teacher educated my child.

Loretta Montgomery April 25, 2018 at 11:02 am

FWCS teaches kids across the board how to see fake news…it sounds like she was trying to keep to the teachings of FWCS in this assignment and the reason for calling it out in the first place. I do not know why she didn’t state that. Fox News along with other sources do report news that is fake and kids are taught how to distinguish that. It sounds like she was trying to prove how to research fake news and use our President to show that point. She apologized and admitted her wrong, why can’t these people move on, students and even parents are forgiven, why they are going on this tangent. I can’t see how it could go to a misdemeanor as students at this school and others actually verbally abuse teachers. This was blown wayyy out of proportion.

George P Burdeine April 25, 2018 at 7:38 am

This “teacher” is an illiterate bigot. It has no right to have a paycheck provided by the taxpayers.

David Brader April 25, 2018 at 7:53 am

There is no such thing as a credible mainstream media source. That being said, the assignment was to translate a story, not determine the credibility of the story!

A random person April 25, 2018 at 7:56 am

I go to the same school. I really hope she gets fired because there’s no need to bring political views into the classroom.

jbjbcbhb April 25, 2018 at 8:26 am

Everyone in that town is entitled to the information regarding resolution of the issue. It’s a law. In Indiana, it’s IC 5-14-3 Chapter 3, Access to Public Records Law. They can file a Complaint for Injunctive Relief. The school isn’t allowed to hide behind “personnel issue.”

Subro April 25, 2018 at 8:37 am

To make matters worse this same teacher followed up a couple days later (after the meeting with the Principal and parents) with another class assignment meant to be derogatory to President Trump. She assigned the class to figure out why Our President hasn’t done enough to help the people of Puerto Rico.

It appears the actions taken by the hierarchy of The Fort Wayne Community Schools was ineffective and this Teacher is determined to continue to be political in a middle school Spanish class. She obviously needs further discipline and instruction on appropriate behavior before returning to the classroom!

Telling Straight April 25, 2018 at 8:44 am

This is one example of what is happening every day in the U.S. Micro aggressions and bullying are front and center, UNLESS the students are conservative and then teachers become as Fascist as anyone in history. We need to take back our schools and stop this constant indoctrination.

The Sub April 25, 2018 at 8:48 am

As a substitute teacher, I was in that classroom last September. I noted that there was a large picture of Che Guevera on the shelf at eye level, and a book beside it, COMMUNIST REVOLUTIONARY. From the looks of the decor in the room, it is apparent that this teacher does not share the traditional views of the average parent in Fort Wayne.

Frank Livingston, EFO April 25, 2018 at 9:14 am

Loretta Montgomery. Tom, John G, and Dave: I guess you, like the teacher, Sarah Ford are liberal Democrats and nothing I or anyone say will change your minds. I was once a Democrat until I learned to do my research and think for myself so I became a Republican! However, over time, I found the GOP moving left and has joined the Democrats so we have what I now call the “NEW” Treason Party. My advice to everyone is to do your research on what is and will destroy America before it is too, late. Start with our massive federal d3ebt that BOTH political parties us as their private piggybanks to buy your votes and it runs up our national debt. So, Loretta Montgomery. Tom, John G, and Dave what is our national/federal debt, can we pay it off and how long would it take?

Our federal/national debt is a national security issue thus it violates our Constitution Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 “provide for common defense” of this nation when it reaches what we now owe!
We are now over $21 trillion dollars in debt and if we could find enough politicians at all levels of government willing to place our national security as their top priority instead of Cultural Marxism i.e. political correctness, we could reverse our destruction. Here is a math question for your kids and grandkids. We are now $20 trillion dollars in debt and if we put $10 million dollars a day, 365 days annually, how many years will it take to pay it off? (not counting interest and additional borrowing)?

Why won’t the teacher and all teachers ask this math question to their students before we go bankrupt as a nation?

someguy April 25, 2018 at 10:26 am

if we paid it back in pre1964 quarters it would only be 1.6 trillion.

G. Sowell April 25, 2018 at 10:33 am

The same thing recently happened to my 12 year old son, in his “Sunday School Class”! Somehow a political subject was brought up during bible study. Instead of the ‘volunteer’ teacher defusing the situation, she proceeded to have a political demonstration during class, by asking the kids to separate on each side of the room. Those who support/like President Trump, and those who don’t. With the ones participating, my son ended up the only one on his side of the room. As if that wasn’t enough, she continued with the demonstration by arguing, mocking, and laughing at my son, and allowed the other students to do the same!!! I was furious!!! Of course when confronted, she denied everything.
I understand she isn’t a professional teacher; therefore she doesn’t have professional training to deal with certain situations. I decided to be ‘forgiving’ and utilize the situation as a teaching tool for my son. The classes continued and she would make comments toward him, or about him. Such as, “I guess we can’t have fun anymore. We have to read out of the Book (meaning the BIBLE!)”.
The administration’s solution was to place my son in the other class room. Needless to say, we have changed churches completely. I am very proud of my son for standing for what he believes in. He has been exposed to ugly people at a young age, so I have no doubt that he will be able to handle himself in this cruel world.

Past teacher April 30, 2018 at 8:44 pm

That teacher should be fired on the spot…..she is no different than the racist or mysogynist. Fire the witch. She shouldn’t teach another minute.

Lucy April 25, 2018 at 11:13 am

Hard to comprehend & believe such teachers (Sarah Ford) EXIST today.
I just finished emailing the BlackHawk Middle School (RE: Sarah Ford) on my 2 cents.
It is EQUALLY TOUGH to my brain cells to ENVISION that Sarah Ford still teaches at ANY school at ANY LEVEL.
My other half’s relative has 2 SEVERELY mentally challenged boys. What is Sarah Ford were to acquire special ed certificates etc. & would Sarah Ford be able to teach special ed students? (Just like them?) Most severe Special Ed students that are NOT ABLE to summarize or REHASH what occurred in class if Sarah Ford were to be a future Special Ed teacher.

Ron Stanford April 25, 2018 at 1:03 pm

Let me see if I’ve got this straight.

The “teacher” VERY PUBLICALLY humiliated a student.

But HER feelings must be protected? What happens to her is very PRIVATE?

Ron Stanford April 25, 2018 at 1:07 pm

There’s no real reason to forgive this woman.

Forgiveness is for people who confess their shortcomings publicly. Not those who lie about what they’re doing.

CC April 25, 2018 at 2:13 pm

Since the teacher continued to assign a different anti-Trump assigment to the student after the father’s conversation with her, she needs to be sent to some re-education seminars. Whatever “disciplinet was meted out by the school needs to be made public, because her behavior is unethical. Third, the student needs to REFUSE to do the new assignment , because obviously the teacher deesn’t “get it”. If there are repercussions from that, the family needs to seek legal counsel. I hope the dad continues to make this public and fight it in the public arena. It’s illegal to force religion on people in the public schools. This teacher needs to stop trying to force the RELIGION of Liberalism on her students.

Linda April 26, 2018 at 9:29 am

This EXACT kind of bullying was so bad and so integrated in Southwest Allen County schools that I removed my daughter completely from the district and now pay for private education. Multiple teachers isolated her as an example of “freakish” behavior and then gave her poor grades and bad reviews in class once her views on debate topics like abortion and immigration became known during the course of schoolwork which the teachers themselves assigned. What a DISGRACE. On the other hand, I’m proud of my 12 year old; she shows more decorum, self-respect, and wisdom than all of these so-called teachers combined. But of course she does…she doesn’t share their “ideology.”

Your daughter will be far more successful than these bully teachers. They are losers and probably hate themselves so they spew their impotent rage at the hostage children in their classrooms. It is a shame that these types cast such a bad image on the many great teachers that strive to educate children in the subjects that they are supposed to teach.

All reading this – please keep in mind that not all teachers are this way! This teacher and the substitute “teacher” that has commented here a few times DO NOT speak for all of us! There are many of us who have conservative values and follow the rules. I am a FWCS teacher, conservative, Christian and work with several as well. There are so many of us who treat the kids as our own, and would never dream of forcing our opinions into them or bully them in any way! These people have no business in the classroom and give great (or even good) teachers a bad name and reputation! SHAMEFUL!

The Fox Website itself admits that FOX is NOT a source of accurate journalism, but a source of ENTERTAINMENT. THAT is right on the website! Just because they call themselves Fox “News” does NOT make them a reliable source, and that teacher had every right to correct the student. However, she should have done so privately and with less passion–and called the assignment “Detail at least 3 inaccuracies reported by the Trump Administration: Facts vs. White House Report.” In addition, she should have given examples to the entire class at the start of the assignment as to what constitutes an accurate, reliable source: the BBC, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The New Yorker, and, yes, as rated by independent, non-partisan fact-checkers, The New York Times AND the Washington Post. Fox News doesn’t even make the list.

Need to get rid of the commie indoctrination teacher and her administrators.

As a teacher for FWCS I feel what this teacher did was totally inappropriate and she should be let go immediately. To push your political views on your students is unethical and wrong. This young man is an A student who NEVER has been in trouble. The teacher even after the interview asked the students to write about how Trump could have done more in Puerto Rico. If this were a conservative issue, the teacher would have been fired. The parents should take this issue to the max and demand action.

Sally Ford needs to be fired immediately for pushing her political ideology on a student. Teachers are fired for much less at FWCS!
If they want you out, they find a way. Parents
You need to demand action NOW. FWCS obviously condones bullying and they push everything under the rug…hoping it will go away. Time to stand up for this student and make sure this teacher is fired. Unexcusable.

The audio really tells the whole story.
