Experts: Time to Recycle that Christmas Tree

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You may want to consider taking down your Christmas tree… at least, if you got a “live” one.

The National Fire Protection Association recently released a study showing that a large number of tree-related house fires happen in January, involving “real” Christmas trees. The reason being that usually by that time the tree has dried out and is more of a fire hazard than it is a decoration.

The association says if your tree has started dropping its needles, it's time to recycle it.
