Fair Housing Month

FORT WAYNE, Ind (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne’s Metro Human Relations Commission is hosting a series of free educational workshops in April in honor of Fair Housing Month.

The series is called the 4 D’s of Fair Housing. It starts Thursday at the public safety academy at Ivy Tech.

The topics of the courses include diversity, domestic violence, disability and discrimination in the housing market. The classes will be every Thursday this month from 10:00 a.m. to noon. See the full list of classes below:

·        On April 4, the series topic will be Diversity and Bias in Renting,

·        On April 11, the discussion topic will be Domestic Violence and Discrimination based on gender,

·        On April 18, the discussion will focus on Disabilities and discrimination in housing, and,

·        On April 25, the series topic will be Due Diligence: Landlord Responsibilities and Retaliation and Tenant Duties.
