FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): BBB officials are warning about some fake IRS calls bombarding northern Indiana residents.

Calls are being received from a 202 area code from callers who state they're with the IRS and the caller ID even shows that the phone calls are from Washington, D.C.

People receiving the calls are panicking as they're being told that they've committed a crime by failing to pay their income taxes for multiple years. In order to not be arrested, they must give checking account access to the IRS or they'll be served court papers. However, officials with the BBB say, the IRS would never call in this fashion.
