FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A family of six, and their pet cat, all survived a house fire that happened early today in Fort Wayne. 

Firefighters were called to the scene at 615 Fifth Street just before 1am, and dealt with a fire in a room on the second floor before it spread to the rest of the home. 

The family – two adults, four children – had already gotten out; firefighters rescued the cat shortly after they arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
